I would like to make a mention here of the ALL important BREATH! How deeply and fully we breathe has EVERYTHING to do with how we feel. No breath = No life! Because of its location just below the diaphragm, congestion in the large intestine, especially the transverse colon, can have a big impact on our breathing. Often, during a colonic treatment, instruction will be given on breathing and where to direct the breathe. Holding the breathe, depriving oneself of this important life-giving physiological function, can negatively impact your health in major ways. During a colonic we use the breathe to relax the body and encourage release. Above all else, the breath is most important during a colonic. If we spend the entire session on the table just breathing, we have accomplished a lot!
